I wanted to encourage people to play chess more by extending the time taken to play a game and by playing it in a different way. Players can take their turn while walking past the table or stand and play for a while. This tall, freestanding chess table is both sculptural and functional. The idea behind it is to make chess fun and give it a modern twist.
